Weâre excited to present Claire du Preez as a Featured AI Leader.Â
Letâs get to know how Claire is using AI.
1. How is AI impacting your work?
I'm currently asking "Can AI do this?" and trying to automate or enhance any and all parts of my role that can be supported by AI. I've started a GenAI learning circle that I lead for women in AI who have been feeling overwhelmed by the "hype" and want to learn collaboratively with other women in a safe space, learning the best of what others have already mastered. We currently have 40 members across two different time zoned circles - its been amazing to learn with others in this format!
2. How do you use AI in your daily life?
Apart from at work, AI helps me prep my meal plans for the week, and gives me recipes on what I have in the fridge! It even helped diagnose my daughter's eczema - I'm continuosly impressed. At work, I'm leading AI efforts to support our mission to become more efficient in our marketing. I share my learnings in public, and with my GenAI learning Circle.
3. What is your favorite AI tool right now?Â
NotebookLM and Claude
4. What advice do you have for someone who is just getting started with AI?
There's definitely a threshold you need to overcome before you start extracting real value from using AI. The beginning stages can be frustrating. Push through, find your momentum and you'll definitely find tangible returns. If you're stuck, come along and learn with us in my GenAI learning circle!Â
5. Who should we follow in the AI space?Â
Liza Adams, Tahnee Perry, Elsamari Botha, Ashleigh Stearn, Jessica Hreha, & Jesse Schmidt
6. How can women in AI support each other?
Women are far more likely to be in roles that will be impacted by AI than men. And Women are more "nervous" of learning this stuff. So by learning in public, and joining collaborative learning opportunities to share knowledge, we can level the playing field and lift each other up. This was the reason I started the learning circle.
